I had this horrific experience of traveling by sleeper class on a Train from Vizag to Kolkata. As my AC waiting list ticket could not confirm before the Journey date I had to cancel it and book an ordinary sleeper class ticket.I was ready for the pain. The soiled toilets.
Some of the co passengers comfortably forgetting to shut the toilet doors. Hawkers and beggers....etc etc.But to my surprise (read shock) I found that a third sleeper birth on the side has been added. Which means 12 more passengers are going to use the same compartment !!!! Use the same Toilets!!!
Use the same seats for sitting!!!!Is it a joke? Many of my co passengers were also shocked and horrified like me! Then to add to the chaos the seat numbers mentioned in the tickets were to be rescheduled by the TT.
Indian Railways have no control over the number of luggage or number of children under the age of 5. Most of the MARWARI business families who travel by train enjoys a load of at least 5 6 luggage per head and thus jamming the entire space below the seats.
So, the train compartment ended up looking like a God own of humans. This was insulting to all the passengers!The railway is cheating us. They should introduce new coaches as Third class and leave the ordinary second sleeper as it is.
