Last month I got a mail from indiatimes mentioning that they have some new and exclusive products that one can buy from the online shop, looking at those products (and the price too) I though it would be a good deal to get them, so I did not buy one but two items and was happy to see that within 7 days I would have the possession of the goods. One of them came precisely in 10 days and the second one has not yet come. I thought of it as a processing delay and ignored the delay for another week, and still no signs of delivery or any shipment notice. Now its exactly a month and after mailing the feedback thrice and calling the so called customer care number (dial anywhere from outside delhi you end up paying STD charges, its not a toll free number) no one answers the phone and if someone does they put you on hold thinking you are the son/daughter of MTNL’s GM and calling from one of the government toll free lines, after waiting for nearly 20 minutes on the phone it was quite evident that I had spent almost double to buy a product online and paid an interest on the sum paid through the credit card with no signs of when I am going to receive the goods. And they call it an online shop. Thanks to some reliable sources (I have been working in the web industry since past 5 years now) that I come to know the reason for delay in the dispatch of goods, the whole system is like Indiatimes features the products by manufacturers/sellers who in turn do the dispatch so that is where the delay occurs some sellers are prompt and some are not but then its not anyone else who suffers its the consumer. I strongly feel that Indiatimes should do something about such issues.
