The email used to SUCK big time till sometime back..i used to hate it with a passion but now it is thrilling!
I don’t know what these guys have done but their email service has improved a zillion times and this is without a even wee bit of exaggeration. I was a great fan of rediff all this while even though I had an indiatimes ID for sundry subscriptions and free offers etc etc...(Basically I never used to check it)But just about 3 days back I while paying a cursory visit to the site I clicked on the email link and WHoooooSH it opened before I could blink an eye. I am sure u all must have tried google search.... it is as fast if not faster.I have been hooked on to the service for the last 3 days and have already sent address change messages to all my friend
Features Now
This new email service is not only about plain speed but they have incorporated certain wonderful features that one was missing in a rediff or any other mail. For those who are not so good with their Memory box... there is a planner to list your appointments...meetings ..dates etc etc...There are many more features in the planner that you may find useful.
Then there is a calendar service, Option to maintain your folders (it is common but this one is presented in a neat way)... Then you can define your own prefrence in the email such as screen width, Attaching personal signatures with messages, you can send Automatic response when you are away (this one is damn cool), Then apart from filters etc you can access other emails accounts through indiatimes email....
There is a KOOOOOL briefcase service with a very nice look and feel to maintain your email files the way you wish to...
Now, isn’t that really cool!
They have even changed the look and feel of the service (but that is not really impressive.. rediff takes the cake when you talk about that)
So pals all in all... if any one of you have read my earlier reviews on indiatimes.... I had mentioned that these guys will turn around one day and I think they have made a brilliant start with the email.. now I just hope that they keep up the good work and make the entire site as fast as their mail service.... ’’HEY AMRITA ARE YOU READING THIS’’.... Give them a chance they deserve it. After all they have been one of the most succesful marketing companies in India....and I am sure that they will make it through with indiatimes with same style.
