I booked a flight from Mumbai to Hyderabad, departing from Mumbai at 9.40 am on April 9, 2014 thinking that it was a 9.40 pm flight. I realized my mistake when I tried to check in at the airport at 8.20 pm. The Check-in lady politely pointed it out and advised me that the girl at another counter would be able to help me out with the least possible financial loss. When I went to the other counter, the lady(Steffi) said I had to pay the full fare and said the other lady was ignorant. When I insisted on talking to the Supervisor, she insisted that even he could not do anything. When I met the Supervisor, he told Steffi a way to mitigate my loss by 50%. Steffi reluctantly obeyed his instructions and allotted me and my friend the last row, though there were vacant seats in the middle. I give the airlines a low rating for employing people like Steffi at the front desk and give a higher rating for employing people like the Supervisor and the lady at the check-in counter.
