Maybe its players like these that bring a bad repute to online shopping. After one has taken a leap of faith and ordered for a relatively high valued product from the site, the post purchase experience is very disheartening.
I ordered a laptop on Infibeam as a birthday gift for someone. Initial reaction was pretty good because they had various payment options; they also gave an estimated shipping and delivery date which I thought was a pretty good thing to do.
But then after that nothing happened- nothing at all, just an uneasy calm, as if the transaction never happened. Product doesnt get shipped on time (well as of today it hasnt yet), its already the delivery date and the Infibeam team has no clue when the product will be shipped, and I am staring at an egg on the face situation. Repeated calls to the customer support gets me a parroted response that it has not been shipped and they are clueless, will update me when they have more info (maybe in a day, a week, months or maybe in a years time).
Hurt with their response, I almost cancel my order, but then I heard my colleagues saying that the refund is an even bigger issue, and that it becomes a bigger black hole with Infibeam, payment gateways and the bank joining the party and accusing each other.
So I swallowed my pride, revoked my cancellation, and waited in silent anticipation till the Gods at Infibeam decide to deliver. Meanwhile, not to mention that my gifting plans are in a disarray.
Whoever is reading this from Infibeam (hopefully their CEO) - Dude this is not cool, you had me and you lost me, maybe you wouldnt mind losing a customer (or not notice it at all), but the inconvenience you caused to me is beyond repair of those parroted response from your service team. Good bye. Good luck. It wasnt fun dealing with you guys.
