InfiniTea, an upscale tea shop and hookah bar situated on the Richardson-Dallas border, has recently undergone a transformation from a classy business into what I might describe as a trashy teenage hangout spot.
Although product quality has not been severely affected, the atmosphere has deteriorated significantly to the extent that I can no longer patronize this establishment. InfiniTea now doubles as a hookah/smoking bar; such activities now dominate the porch area adjacent to the front door. I fail to see the value of lung cancer and would rather steer clear of this.
InfiniTeas prices are fairly reasonable - cheaper than one might expect at a shop of this nature. The teas and slushes are decent, but the coffee drinks leave much to be desired. I have found that the food is sometimes stale as it sits in the kitchen indefinitely until it is purchased. The room itself is quite pleasing to the eye; they have done a marvelous job at designing and decorating the shop, right down to the tables and chairs.
Although I do have my opinions about pipe smoking in public areas, I concede that the hookahs contribute a degree of artistic flare.
I have had several issues with the level of service at InfiniTea. The staff are often pushy and rude, and I have had several instances of InfiniTea employees barging into private conversations uninvited. It is discomforting, particularly when they respond rudely to polite requests for privacy. In addition, the owner, an awkward Taiwanese gentleman, has made a habit of hugging young female customers. A close female friend of mine refuses to go near InfiniTea for this very reason.
Many previously loyal customers no longer feel welcome at InfiniTea.
