This is a in depth review of pros and cons after 6 days of usage. InFocus is an American company and it has released it’s new phone EPIC 1 with a tagline "Extraordinary starts here"!. Does it live upto this tag line?. Well read my full review to find out.

Pros:-
1.Design & Build Quality:
The look and feel of the phone is premium, back cover is metal with brushed metal finish. Curved back with thin edges makes it easy to hold even though it’s a big phone and its not at all slippery, phone fits perfectly into the palm.(Check out the pics attached to know the design and build quality)
Display:
Epic 1 has 5.5 full HD IPS LCD display, excellent display with vivid colors. Viewing angles are really good, visibility under direct sunlight too was within acceptable levels. Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
Performance:
One of the major talking point of this phone is Mediatek Helio X20 10-core processor, this is the USP of this smartphone. Coupled with 3GB RAM multitasking in this phone is very smooth. 1.2GB free RAM so overall performance never had any hiccups.
Benchmark scores -> Antutu -86112, GFX - 27fps . Impressive!
OS:
This phone comes with 6.0 Mashmallow out of the box with InLife UI on top. OS works like a breeze, it is very close to stock android experience. There is no lag at all. There are options for several customization’s which will make phone usage much better.
Battery Life:
It comes with 3000mAh battery. Battery life is pretty decent. My phone is always connected to wifi or cellular data, I use social media a lot. I used to get around 4.5 hours of screen on time on normal usage and around 3.5 hours on heavy usage, which is more than enough for a average user. So full charge in the morning will easily last a day.
Fingerprint sensor:
It is located in the backside, company claims it unlocks in <1 sec and it actually unlocks faster than that, most importantly its accurate unlocks 8 out of 10 times without any problem.
Camera:
Back camera is 16MP with image stabilisation and dual tone LED flash, front cam is of 8MP. Camera is quick and launches in no time, interface is easy. 16MP primary camera is really good in daylight and indoor light conditions, color reproduction was accurate. Pictures are very good for a phone in this price range.
It has PIP mode which lets you shoot with both front and rear camera simultaneously.
It has Auto focus and Image stabilization.
Front camera has wide angle lens and takes pretty good selfies for your social media, it does a very good job with video calling too.
HDR mode is available in both back and front cam!, but while clicking pics with HDR mode you should hold the phone steady, otherwise pictures tend to be blurry.

8.Gaming:
I am not a big gamer, but I do play simple games. I also tried Asphalt Xtreme and Modern combat-5 in this phone. They worked just fine, did not experience any lag. While playing heavy games phone tends to get warmer around the camera area but this was under acceptable levels, it’s not overheating issue.
Cellular call quality is excellent, earpiece is loud and clear. I didn’t face any problem with signal reception. It supports VoLTE too.
Memory is expandable upto 128GB(Hybrid sim card tray)
It has all the important sensors including Gyroscope.
It has IR blaster, which is missing in many phones now.
-Turbo Download is one of the unique feature of this phone. With this feature you can download using both wifi and 4G combined. Impressive!
CONS:-
Even though this phone supports fast charging, fast charger is not included in the box. With the charger provided it takes around 2 hours 30 minutes from 1% to 100%. I tried charging with a fast charger and it worked, took around 1 hour 40 minutes for the same.
Only one color available, if someone does not like Gold color there is no other option.
Speaker is very loud but sound quality is not great.
Verdict:-
- Overall it is an excellent phone in this price range, it ticks all the boxes. Epic 1 provides a hassle free day to day performance with stable and options filled software.
