I Joined this company as a fresher in 2009.Seeing the technical and personality training schedules, I really hoped we will be getting very good projects and will be given onsite opportunities and stuff. Training then in middle of training we gotta know that we r not allowed to choose streams.
So our fate of which career we will be choosing will be decided by Random computer Algorithm! Training is very very hectic and u will be more tempted to develop a time machine than code so you can just move forward in 6 months.
This is the stage where you develop love for your life and depression simultaneously.Trust me! The only good part of training is u get lovely rooms to stay in and plasma TV (of course you will not be having any time to use all these. Its just for show).
Some people (brainless!) Just join INFY just to get training and then purposely gets kicked by flunking intentionally in finals.
Production Just when you sigh with relief after training is over, you get a call for the project. This is the time where you will be devastated to find that you will be applying none of the things in you project you learnt in your training.
They see people as Resources.Trust me!...And the only living persons are Customers!
There is almost zero motivation to work.Till now I have stayed in this company, the only free thing I got was T-shirt!!...I am almost jealous to hear from my friends who work in different company that they got sweets, bonuses, laptops for festivals and all.
As of Jan 02 2012 they ave taken Coffee machines out of buildings as part of cost cutting or whatever reason in Mysore DC.So we are now forced to go to canteen and pay for our coffee. Never thought company would go to such pathetic state where they couldnt give free coffee.
I am sure next they will force us to switch off fans, lights, charge for toilet tissues and sell Bisleri waters. Food is not as good as you think. For you non veggies, if u want to have chilly chicken, you need to buy two chapathis along with it :-) have to maintain minimum of 9.15 hours a day even if we dont have work or we are on bench.
No playing TT or nothing during office hours.This rule was introduced few years back and I believe it was done just to over charge customers per hour for entire 9.15 hours per resource even though "the resource" had work of 3-4 hours.
Minimum number of people are taken to fixed project and people there are found slogging day and night where 2 people completes work of 5 people.
Unneeded number of people are taken into time and material project where 12 people does the work of 5 people and people are left with no work except filling stupid excel sheets and just praying to God that when will 9.15 hours for a day end.
It has possibly worst Customer value and known for milking them. It has one of the worst promotion/Appraisal policies ever introduced "IRACE".To cut short, all it leads to is cut throat competition, useless politics, blame game and bursting tension and stress.
Add mandatory certification to be completed per year as cherry on top of the cake. This software company is run by bunch of freshers where they are made slog day and night and nothing else.
They have zero care about employees. And even the pro employee policies which are introduced is just a make believe to win some "pro employee award of the year".
All they care about is to make their company multi-million company. I agree there are worst company than Infosys but this company is in top 10 among the worst.This is why Infosys is still in demand!!
