Disclaimer: The following review is not based upon an Inox multiplex of a single city. This comes under the category INOX Leisure Pvt. Ltd, Which has more then 70 screens across India.
About INOX:
*Inox began in early 2001, by Gujarat Flurochemicals Ltd. who sketched the Inox experience to be one of the finest cinemas in India. Inox is considered to be a group venture and subsidary of GFL. It is among the first few multiplex chains which started at the same time. Inox first had a two screen theatre at Baroda which was constructed in 2002-03 and had state of the art facilities which the big multiplexes could provide. In a short spant of 4 years, Inox Liesure today operates a 22 Multiplex chains, which is the highest number of multiplex count in India. Having a total of 76 screens housing an average 250-500 seats per screen.
*What works for INOX?
*Inox was the only brand that could risk its profit gaining and construct multiplexes where the single screen concept prevailed. Inox today works as a single multiplex brand in a number of cities catering to the people of every class which include Darjeeling, Durgapur, Raipur, Nagpur and Bharuch. And mind you these cities do not have any less facilities and amenties which the Inox of Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai have!
Inox has a ticket range which is suitable for almost any middle class person, There are about 3-4 morning [9 am - 12 - pm] shows which work for Rs.60/70/80 all over India. Next shift is the afternoon [12 pm - 5 pm] which comes for Rs. 90/100/110. And finally the evening shows [5 pm - 11.45 pm] charge about Rs. 130 - 300.
*The INOX food:
Inox has a good range of food products available at their pay-fast-take counters. The counter is named as RefUeL. There a number of types of pop-corns which include plain / masala / cheese / caramel / mint magic. These come in three sizes Small - Rs. 35. Large - Rs. 45 and Xtra Large - Rs. 100. Few types of sandwitches [Rs. 35], burgers[Rs. 40], pizza[Rs. 45], hotdog [Rs. 45], samosa[Rs. 25(2 Nos.)], pasta [Rs. 50], veg/non-veg puffs[Rs. 30], Wraps[Rs. 40] .Soft drinks [All manufactured by Coca Cola India] Small - Rs. 35, Large - Rs. 40, Tea/Iced Tea - Rs. 25 /35 respectively. Coffee/Cold Coffee Rs. 30/45 respectively.
The food present at the counters has a nutrition chart which allows you to choose eatables which can suit your stomach.
*The INOX ambience:
*Inox has a basic colour tuning of red, blue and yellow colours. These give it a vibrant, fresh and a new look everytime you visit it. The auditoriums are excellently equipped with wide cup rest seats, good leg space and seat numbers illuminated my small LEDs. After settling down, the projection begins with digital satellite projection and a dolby digital audio system giving a statement ofWELCOME TO INOX on a good wide screen. Most of the Inox have entrance from the back of the audi, and you climb down to exit through the premises.
Hygiene
*Most of the Inox chain cinemas maintain good hygiene everywhere in the premises. Atleast I have never seen any kind of litter, or trash; be it a paper napkin. Absolutely spotless. The food is served with plastic gloves on, most of the cutlery and plates are disposable and recyclable. The wash rooms are highly clean, though some time few of the the sections are closed for cleaning purposes.
*The INOX staff:
*Like every other multiplex, the staff memebers sitting on the ticket counters, food counters, ticket cheking are well versed in Hindi and partially in English. The staff keeps on behaving friendly even when youve spilled a lot of food, created nonsense in the theatre, shouted all the time. etc. May be its their work, but I really seem to appreciate theire patience when people askChai pachhes rupaye ki? Humare yahaan to paanch me milti hai. and start fighting over nothing.
The INOX Experience:
Inox is of the few multiplex chains which has kept its gates open for people of all classes. Unlike the costly Imax, PVR, Adlabs, Fame cinemas. Inox gives an absolute value for money affair. If you ever want to visit Inox, just keep a Rs. 200 in your pocket and you will enjoy like anything.
Inox today is present in Banglore, Bharuch, Chennai, Darjeeling, Durgapur, Goa, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kota, Lucknow. Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Raipur, Vadodara and Vijaywada,
The braches I have visited are, Goa / Indore / Mumbai - Nariman Point / Raipur / Nagpur / Kolkata - Forum. And have never been disappointed in watching and enjoying the movie [Unless the movie is bad enough].
