I recently watched a tamil movie in the third week of November. My first experience in a multiplex theatre in Bangalore and this stays way behind compared to the ones in other cities of Mumbai, Chennai etc.
Fame Lido has a very bad sound effect though I checked out this movie sound track is very good. Not sure if they are still playing the sound track on not so good music equipment probably. Of all, what surprised me was to make me stand for a national anthem inside the theatre before the movie was played. I am patriotic but didnt find a reason of relevance for playing national anthem in a multiplex movie theatre. I am still wondering as to why they do that. It wasnt a school function, a social meeting or even a formula 1 chequered flag event.
The ambience was really good with well moderated air conditioning equipment. The seats were very good but the leg room could have been made more spacious. The prices are slightly on the higher side to what level of services we get inside and the snack bar is very expensive as well. Can really drop in for that real good movie.. The weekend tickets are even more expensive than the one on the weekdays.
REVIEW UPDATE ON 26th FEBRUARY 2010. 15 months after my first review....
I booked Gold class this time for Avatar as it happens to be a 5 star rated movie in TOI & that movie requires that rRajeev_Vermact and I thought I should enhance my movie experience as well. However when I reached the ticket counter, I asked if the Premier seats were sold out or if I could manage tickets far away from screen as we were 5 and Gold Class @ 400 was burning my wallet a bit. But I stuck to the Gold class as the girl at the ticket counter said I might have the front row.. When I entered the theatre I found out that the Gold class was only occupied by my family.. Anyways no regrets and still not sure why the National Anthem is being played here... ( I am definitely a patriot but still dont find any relevance of that being played in a movie theatre ).
Final Note : Gold class ticket price doesnt justify the class. However check Gold Class tickets during week days when they are priced around 150 to 200.
Enthiran movie on 8th October in Value Mall

It was so embarrassed to loose my cool when I was with my family as I inherited my college behaviors by whistling in the theatre... No regrets after that moment as it was only because of a failed audio quality during "irumbile oru idhayam song". Honestly I went for music & I missed Chennai so bad that day that moment because of the quality of audio you get...
Hurray Iam going back to Chennai & no more crappy movie sounds anymore. Chennai.. here I come....
If you are musically dumb, check this theatre out...
