If you have 2-3 hours with nothing to do and need to do something to keep you in good humor for a day or 2, read THE INSCRUTABLE AMERICANS by Anurag Mathur. Its Hilarious indeed . The book is mainly about the trials and tribulations of a young 20 year old Gopal from a town JAJAU in india going to the USA for a 1 year diploma course in Chemical engineering. He comes from an Orthodox background and the book is a hilarious narrations of his experiences to avoid pitfalls one (indian) could face in the DREAM land. The best part of the book is the type of English the Author attributes to our hero, and since one cant give a critical review to such a light hearted book, I give you a few lines direct from the book

They are rolling dowm a screen and showing films but I am not listening because Air hostess ladies are selling head phones for 2 dollars which is Rs 26 in our belove Jajau town where we can sit in Balcony in Regal talkies for only Rs 3. I am also asking her for more coco cola but she looking like she is weeping and walking away. Perhaps she is not understanding proper english.... ’’

This is not new country , it is a new world They are playing game which they are calling foot ball in which they are beating each other without mercies for no reason.But now I am feeling that they should do more beating because if they are beating each other then they are atleast not beating rest of the world...’’ ’’ Brother in food problems I am having big botheration everyday I am eating Cornflakes and Boiled eggs for all meals , Now when I am burping I am getting corn flakes taste.. The book also narrates the ways his friend in college Randy tries in different ways to get our Hero Gopal loose his virginity.. All in all a must read once book for its funny narrative style... Enjoy folks
