Insidious Chapter 2(*1/2) The haunted family of the Lamberts continues to be followed by the evil spirit through its Gen Next, leading to more in-house torture, killings& paranormal activities.
Director James Wan( of Conjuring) conjures up yet another spooky tale of a mother straight from hell, who makes her victims claim more victims. Scares are fewer, gore is limited, screenplay is swift but the story itself is less dramatic.
While Wan is good at connecting dots from past to present, what he doesn’t do is delve too much into it( the past). However, this time he patiently explains the cause and effect of the goings-on in the house, but he could have played on the mysterious scary past aplenty.
Can’t say if Chapter 3 is already being planned, but go for 2 if you spook easy!
