Ive been using Instagram for the past 3 years, and honestly, its one of the most fun apps on my phone. As a student, I enjoy using it to stay connected with my friends, follow celebrities, and explore reels when I have free time. It’s a place where I can express myself, share memories, and see what others are up to. But like everything, it has both good and bad sides.
The best part of Instagram is the reels and stories. I can spend hours just scrolling through funny, motivational, or tech-related content. The algorithm shows me exactly what I like — mostly bike reels, study motivation, and memes. Creating reels is easy too. Even if you’re not a professional editor, you can still make fun videos using the in-app tools.
Another feature I love is Instagram DMs ( direct messages) . It’s like having a mini chat app inside Instagram. I can talk to my close friends, share memes, or create group chats with my classmates.
However, I also think Instagram can be very addictive. Once I open the app, its hard to stop scrolling. Sometimes I forget I opened it just to reply to someone, and end up wasting 30 minutes watching random videos. It affects my study time if I’m not careful.
There are also privacy issues. Some unknown accounts randomly follow or message me, and there are too many fake profiles. I wish Instagram would make it easier for users to control who can contact them or view their content.
Overall, I think Instagram is a powerful app for creativity, connection, and entertainment. It has improved a lot over time, with new features like Notes, close friends, link sharing, and reminders. If used in a smart way, it can be a great tool. But if we get too addicted, it can waste our valuable time.
So yes, I would recommend Instagram to my friends, but I’ll also say — use it wisely!
