Not Worth A Dime

A couple of months ago, I was quite intrigued by the concept of Compute Sticks. The idea to be able to convert my television to a fully fleged computer for a small price was quite the idea. So I went ahead and purchased this specefic compute stick. I have been using it for quite some time and I would like to point out as to why you should never even think of buying this product.

1) No connections

I wanted this to be able to download and watch movies, do a little gaming, and some work related stuff on my TV.

However, the fact that I could not connect anything at all to this thing was very frustrating. I cannot connect an external USB or Hardrive. If I want to use a pair of mouse and keyboard, then I have to use bluetooth ones.

Data transfer because a pain and almost next to impossible. So tell me, what good is a computer, if you cannot compute data on it.

2) Lacks performance

This thing has an Intel Atom processor and as long as I was using it, it is very extremely lacking in performance. Even simple tasks such as surfing the web, watching Youtube, Nextflix and other simple tasks, this thing actually struggles a lot. It is expected, as this has no fans and has a low hardware.

As far as gaming is concerned, I was not able to play anything at all on this thing. Even a 1990’s game like Age of Empires struggled on this thing.

3) This thing is actually pricey for what it offers.

4) Much better alternatives

There are far much better alternatives to thing thing which are also considerably cheaper. Things like Google Chromecast do a much better job at converting your TV to a smart TV.

So yeah, I would not recommend this device at all to anyone.
