I am sixty-five years old learner. A year back I thought of idea of highlighting problems of our society. The only medium was local edition of an English Daily newspaper through which I can express my self. Mustered courage. In my first letter,
I raised issues about my subject and the shortcomings thereof. I sent the write-up to the editor with a request to publish the same, since the subject touched, was in the interest of public at large. After about three days , my wife, excited, came running to me towards lawn where I was plucking stale leaves of small shrubs with the newspaper held high in her hand only to break the news of my article, published, courtesy the pleasure of the editors. Overjoyed.
But was a bit disappointed to find some grammar mistakes because letters to the editor sometime published as such. Feeling a bit down, I searched for good book on English grammar. Chanced upon Intermediate English Grammar, by Raymond Murphy. Got It. And lo what a nice books it is. It teaches one how to use , modals, verb+ing, adjectives and adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, phrasal verbs , Its classic on English grammar. Students, budding writers should take help from this books for sure success.
