Attending an interview is always important for making up ones own career. The manner in which we attend is what that matters eventually. Let me throw some light in this regard.
EXTERNAL APPEARANCE OF A WOMAN:
Hairs: It would look inappropriate if hairs are left free without tying a knot. Also, apply oil in a mild fashion. Do not gel or condition hairs.
Dress code: The most vital part is the way one dresses up. Never opt for bright coloured clothes as they may distract the interviewers attention. Always, wear dresses which are simple and light-coloured.
Foot wear: One must avoid high heels.
Miscellaneous: Avoid high-fashioned accessories as much as possible. This covers flashy ear rings, hair clips, bangles, watch, hand bag, rings or chains. Also, care must be taken to banish scents or perfumes. A deodorant of mild concentration is always advisable.
Furthermore, everything must match and be in sync of what one wears.
EXTERNAL APPEARANCE OF A MAN:
Hairs: Not too short or not too long but of normal length will put up the best of the impressions. Also, well oiled hair is different from over oiled hair. Never go for any gels.
Dress code: Any light shade is preferred for shirts. As far as trousers are considered, stick to black colour only as it is the ideal choice. Though tie is not mandatory, a red one is the only choice in case you are willing to wear . Never wear a brown coloured trouser as it is considered as a working class one by most.
Miscellaneous: Always, stick to black colour belt, black socks and black shoes or brown socks and brown shoes.
ETIQUETTES:
The first and must is PATIENCE. Never lose cool as long as the interview is in the process.
Be truthful and disclose all relevant details.
Trivial issues like knocking the door gently, closing and opening the door slowly, pulling the chair without any harsh noise, wishing the interviewers, making proper eye contact, giving satisfactory replies and most importantly - a CONFIDENT smile.:-)
All the best.
Ravi.
