While there are some lovely, honest sellers on that site, they are far outnumbered by sellers peddling illegal goods and pornography. Although this is not only against the law and against the site’s own TOS, iOffer deliberately turns a blind eye to this activity. It has been brought to their attention innumerable times and their response is that they cannot be held responsible for any of the activity that goes on on their site. Counterfeit items such as handbags and electronic equipment are openly sold on the site. Sellers even brag prominently about their ability to copy these items down to the last detail. iOffer is well-known as THE place to go if you want to buy a knock-off of any kind.
And if that wasn’t bad enough, iOffer also hosts message boards and ’’clubs’’ on which two members are allowed to stalk and harass any member that questions iOffer’s policies or business methods. These two members are clearly affiliated with iOffer staff as they see to it that anyone who has had a negative experience and speaks up about it, is quickly removed from the site (’’no longer a member’’) so that other members will not become aware of the problems with the site. iOffer refuses to answer correspondence from members whose accounts were closed without warning.
iOffer has also begun embedding outside links in seller’s ads without the seller’s knowledge or consent. These links take prospective buyers to offsite items that can be totally unrelated to what they are looking at. Many of the links also take buyers to illegal goods such as replica handbags.
