I am an individual computer programmer having very good experience and reputation online who works with various international client. This employer found me on an online job site. They contacted me and tried hiring me.
They took around 2-3 rounds of interviews (verbal/practical), wasting hours of my time. Since I possess a very good experience, my rate is also higher than others. They realized the same, but never told me what can they afford. After taking all the interviews they told that they could afford an amount which I was getting many years back while doing day job. I immediately got frustrated, I couldn’t think that how could they evaluated my skills that much cheaper.
This was really a disappointment. I never ever recommend any person to waste their valuable time such clients/employer. I suggest to discuss money stuff before anything, since it matters the most with these types of client.
Keep yourself away if you are not gonna sell your skills for the cost of peanuts.
