It certainly is

Well, if you ask me whether Mouthshut is justified in banning its members, than I would say yes.....certainly that was mentioned in the terms and conditions when you became a member here(If u read it). That’s what the problem here is.. whenever I am asked to sign on a financial document, I will read through all the documents, line by line before signing on the dotted line, but when I see I have nothing to lose(in most cases monetarily) and I am looking at some kinda gain (could be anything from my write-ups being read, monetary gains or whatever) I will not think twice even before clicking the ’’I accept the terms and conditions’’ radio button.....

I have used an ’’I’’ every where in the above para because even I am one of those to do so.....

So, where is the fault of mouthshut:

~Banning members for doing something what they have agreed not to do OR

~Banning members for doing something what seems to be wrong from a community point of view OR

~Banning members for doing something what could get them or mouthshut into some kinda legal trouble.

Now this argument also leaves a lot of questions to be answered:

1. Will you allow someone in your home if he defacates at your house or I would better say (your business location and you expect a lot of people coming in just after that)

2. Will you ever dare to take out an album ’’Best of me’’ and sing all the songs in your voice......

3. Will you allow someone at your shop who comes and starts abusing your other customers or guests who are simply enjoying their business there.

I believe most of us will answer these as a BBBBBBIIIIIIIIGGGGG ’’NO’’;why?

When it comes to us we need to have everything clean, and when it is a public place everything is acceptable..is it? No boss, that is what I want to emphasize on...

Treat mouthshut as if you will treat your house or your friends.....

Behave the same way that you do not find wrong in doing in your house.

Mouthshut is a place where you can express yourself but that does not mean that you will say that leads to mouthshut earning a bad name or probably even extinction.

Well certainly, I come to mouthshut only till, I have a clean, respectable environ here and not some crap going in most of the reviews, though I believe that there are other ways as well, to enforce this, but, that should be left to mouthshut’s discretion what’s best in their interest....

Why mouthshut is justified in each of the points::

1. Obscene Reviews: No Justifications required here.....U write filth - you are gone....and one warning is more than enough

2.Copyright violation: Don’t know how many of you actually know the severity of this, could lead to a big legal hassle for ms if they do not prohibit this?.

3. m2m abuses: I need not say anything here, if I am important to ms as a member then so are you, and anything that disgraces you with ms as a medium should certainly be discouraged?.though I liked Tanmay?s Point in his review that distrust list should/ can be used to avoid such things?.

4. TOS violation: this probably is harsh but if you look at it from a different point of view as in I write a review on ms, and then I sell it to someone else as well (if the tos is not in the picture) then that review is now the ownership of the person/website who has paid me for it, and then he can put it up as copyright violation?

So all said and done, though MSneed to take some steps to curb these and banning being certainly one of them which seems to be most feasible and the easiest of all, but yes if MS works together with some of the chosen representatives of the members and try to think of a better solution, I am all hands to it?..

P.S.: I have nothing against people who are banned for doing any of the above, but yes somethings are better prevented than to be pondered upon later??
