Hi everyone I am new on mouthshut this is my first review here on Ishant sharma.
I am guessing most people already know who ishant sharma is if you are a cricket lover like me and the rest of the india. Sharma is 19 year old boy from Delhi, he is most like a fast medium bowler with his fastest delivery is like 140 km which is around 85 miles an hour. He is team indias new find in the recent series against australia, besides all the controversies somethings turned out pretty good, sehwag back in form, irfan pathan back in form and Now the the young sharma who seems to be a very good bowler.
The thing I like about sharma is he never stops trying in the recent series against australia in the second test sharma gives a very good delivery to andrew symonds which hit the side of the bat and was caught so it was abvoius to everyone symonds was out, but not to the umpire Mr Bucknor, but sharma comes back in the third test and gives a incredible performance at perth getting ricky ponting out two times, though ricky ponting was out lot of times in LBWs which were not given by the umpires sharma didnt stop trying and finally got the wicket of ponting.
Sharma has high delivery action and can swing the ball in both ways. Sharma was picked forthe south africa tour also in 2006- 2007 which india played very badly but sharma didnt get to play any matches that time. Before joinging team india sharma was in the domestic team of delhi where hes played four games and has gotten 20 wickets. He has earned nick name LAMBU due to his height he is 6’4. Sharma’s cricket hero is Glenn Mcgrath who has always followed, sharmas run up is quite similar to mcgraths and jason gillespies when he bowls.
He was also in the team when pakistan played in this year in november and december in the test matches he was called up for the 3rd test matches he has got his first 5 wicket haul but in the end the match was draw against pakistan. My favorite delivery of sharma was to matthew hayden at the 4 test in adelaide where the play swung in and hit the first stump which was totaly a unplayable delivery and hayden was confused he wants to hit it or not, which I thought was a very important wicket if hayden was there he would have probbably lot more runs.
Sharma is yet to play in odi’s for india but was selected for this tri series in feburary against australia and srilanka . Though its too early to say how good of a bowler he will inthe future but if youngsters like sharma can come in the team and set up a tone indian team can do really good in the future, it good youngster are getting chance to show their skills.
