A Shady Tier 2 IT Co.

ITC Infotech India Limited (I3L) is the IT arm of ITC Ltd. - a 100% subsidiary. However, this company has nothing of its Parent company policies. The leadership and management is very poor, there is zero reward and recognition and no opportunities for career progression as such. The management is largely indifferent to employees’ needs and issues. Employees are simply treated like revenue generating objects rather than valued as assets.


However, for senior and middle level people the pay is reasonably good. If someone who has done enough in the industry and wants to go slow for a while, then this is the best place to take a bit of a rest. The senior management is mainly from the Parent company and treats these postings as holidays. There are very few senior people with proper IT industry background in the senior management. There is no career development or personal development opportunity. People who do less and shout more, do better over here in the longer run. The same attitude is reflected among the recruiters in the HR Department of this company. There is a gulf of difference between what they promise to the new entrants and what they see after getting in. It is not an equal opportunity employer either. The policies are different for old ITC employees and new employees even if they are on the same grade.


From the point of view of ITC Ltd., it is a step child from the 4th wife... so they care the least about the employees of I3L. There is hardly any communication mechanism between management and employees and the state of infrastructure is simply appalling. People joining here from large IT companies, are bound to get a shock. The facilities for employees are grossly inadequate, such as stinking sitting space (with toilet smell), absence of cafeteria, unhygienic and untidy toilets, lack of parking space. Managers are usually apathetic to employee issues or concerns or are not approachable. Organization does not have any vision for growth.
