though the editor has unwititingly made the film an obscure one, and even the writers aim occasionally to tickle the funny bone at the cost of logical reasoning, the humour is dark, intriguing and seriously funny.
KUNDAN SHAH excels in creating the most suitably haunting atmosphere for the milieu. the background score and the camera work are in perfect sync with the pitch black goings on.
performances are naturlaly marvellous with NASEERUDDIN SHAH and OM PURI worth a mention.
the chaos at the mahabharata play makes for one of the most hilarious scenes ever but the ensuing climax depreses one to no end. it makes one thinak and repent over the price of honesty in the moneystarved nation of ours.
the title could be nothing better - JAANE BHI DO YAARO i.e "LET IT GO, GUYS". True indeed!
