Watched JTHJ this morning in 1st show 9:30 @ INOX Nariman point, Mumbai.Frankly speaking in one word, "disappointed" with the movie that was meant to be yash jis last romantic movie.
Yash ji is known to make romantic movies that touches heart. Stories that make you cry, laugh, enjoy, cherish and fell in love with characters. Sagas that speak, characters that you feel like to be in love with. Moments that you take back home and remember them for long. Who can forget Daag, Kabhi Kabhie, Silsila, Chandni, Lamhe and Veer Zaara. Yash ji created magic, whenever he made a romantic movie.
JTHJ despite being a good movie, failed to create magic that yash ji was known for. it was hard to connect with the emotions of SRK n kat. Surprisingly anushka as the 2nd leading lady seems to steal the show. she was awesome, full of energy and charming. you will be able to connect with Anushkas (akira) character. she was real jaan of the movie. on other hand, SRK n Kat failed to create the magic, one expects from yash jis characters. The intensity, emotions or expressions fail to showcase in Samar (srk) and Meeras (katrina)characters. They surely dint do total justice with their role. I dont mean they were bad in their roles, but surely when u watch a yash chopra movie, you dont expect characters to create magic. You surely expect magic of love to be spread all around u, and samar or meera fail to portray those magical characters.
JTHJ will sadly, not be remembered as yash jis one of the finest works. Infact its the worst romantic movie of yash ji, when compared with yash jis other romantic movies like daag, kabhi kabhie, silsila, chandni, lamhe or veer zaara.
One should watch it once, as this is last time we would be watching a yash chopra directed movie on big screen, but dont expect it to showcase you the charm, magic or joy that yash jis romantic movies had. even the music is just above average.
Its sad to see yash ji making just an average love story as his last movie. I would have loved to remember veer zaara as his last movie, which I believe was a great love story made by the king of romance - Yash Chopra.
