"Jack & Jill" fell down.. flat on its face

Plot. A new, dynamic, change-everything president is elected and the CBI, FBI and other government organizations don’t like it one bit. That’s how ’Jack & Jill’ is born.   Jack & Jill is a code name for an operation run by the Secret Service and the CBI to kill the president. The assasins, from the Secret Service or CBI, usually working as a couple, start by killing celebrities and people associated with the president -these are known as the "Jack & Jill murders".

They eventually kill the prez in the end and the vice-president is installed as the new president.   The story is narrated in the first person; a detective Dr. Alex Cross. This is the chap who is called in to solve the Jack and Jill murders /Plot.   As you can see, its a pretty dumb plot so James P. decides to add another story about some mentally unstable cadet from a nearby school killing little black kids. Of course, the detective solves this case because the killer actually reveals himself and takes hostage a black lady teacher of the same school. It might be worth mentioning here that Cross fancies this teacher even though she is married and the sicko that James P. is, actually kills of the teacher’s husband’s character (during the hostage game) making the way clear for Alex to walk right in.   All in all, a real big piece of crap from James P. I really wonder what the world is coming to if this book made the #1 International Bestsellers list!
