I am Jadavpur University graduate. I studied engineering in this college. It usually comprises of the top 1000 students from WBJEE merit list. So usually meritorious students study in this university in the engineering department.
The curriculum is rigorous, and it really prepares you for your future endeavours.
Moreover the fees is very cheap. You just need to pay Rs 200 per month and hostel fees of Rs 25 per month. It is heaven for middle class people.
There are three major branches in this college. Arts, Science and Engineering. The University is famous for both the Arts and the Engineering departments.
Moreover the campus is big and filled with scenic beauty. There is big fest called Sanskriti every March. It showcases some outstanding talents across India and is one of the biggest fests in India.
The biggest plus of studying from this university is the great alumni network. Every company or university has atleast one Jadavpur University Alumni, and this goes on to help you in a long way.
It is also ranked above the various new IITs.
