I have been eating the Food from Delhi Durbar on and off right from the time that it was a very tiny restaurant situated in the Lanes of Grant road and on the boundary of the Red light area in central Mumbai. This goes back 35 years in time. I used to visit the Restaurant with my friends for the occasional tandoori chicken and the Biryani and was truly satisfied with the servings, taste and quality at that time.
Since then the Restaurant has grown in size and has been split family wise to give rise to two chains. The chain that I am referring to belongs to a Mr. Jafferbhai and is known as Jaffer Delhi Durbar.
Of recent times I have noticed a marked Deterioration in the quality of their Biryani but had continued to patronize it with the hope that the quality would improvise and stabilize.
However it seems that this is not Becoming and the Biryani that I ordered two days back was extremely atrocious, with extremely poor quality rice and Meat. To top it all up the Oil used was so unhealthy that it took huge quantities of soap to clean the dishes. You can well imagine the state of affairs within the human body with all that stuck oil within the digestive system.
*The rice was totally broken and instead of being Biryani it seemed more like Rice and meat mixed together to resemble a Biryani.
The price charged for such a poor quality dish which I would term as unhealthy trash, definitely was way way too high.
I definitely would urge all to not only think thrice but to stay away from such unhealthy restaurants as not only would you be paying through your nose for trash but a grave danger to ones health.
In short you would be actually paying for and inviting your Ill Health.
To avoid this chain of restaurants would be a very wise decision indeed*
