I am an NRI, and I have twin boys aged 9. I tried an Indian boarding school( JIRS, Bangalore), for 2 months, for my two children, and here are the feedback. I am writing this to help you readers, to take your decisions in an informed way.
For NRI children, who live in developed countries, JIRS is NOT at all a good option. But, for children who are within India and / or middle eastern countries / Africa, this may be an option, to consider, if cant be avoided.
3. Dont get deceived by the infrastructure alone!. In my experience, as a parent, Jain International Residential School( JIRS), Bangalore, is NOT of international standards. NRI shouldn’t even try, for young aged children. You dont get what you deserve, even after paying heavily!
They have an impressive sport facility, but, sub-standard dorm care. No protein rich non-veg food for your child, while growing up, is like punishing their health.
We tried boarding for 2 months, for 9 year olds, and I think, the right age, for boarding, if cant be avoided, is around 13 – 14, ie, 8th grade.
For details, please do not hesitate to email me. I have learnt my lesson by trying for 2 months, hence, want to share with you people.
