We had a senior family member admitted to this very well known hospital in the third week of may’09: had multiple complications plus weakness.
two very startling things were noticed:
when the patient was diagnosed with tb, none of the ward boys were willing to assist him(moving, turning, etc) and;
this hospital charges 5/- bucks per visitor per day: this during their normal visiting hours!
also, staff members are very unapproachable and distant and the housekeeping needs great improvement.
it was overall not a very happy experience for the patient and family members and to improve the patient’s condition, he was moved to cooper hospital a few days back. and his condition is very much better and stable.
personal suggestion, do not get carried away by big names: check and verify credentials of medical units / hospitals before admitting or getting admitted.
