Born to ordinary middle class parents, Jassi’s simplicity and clumsy ways make everyone fall in love with her. Like millions of middle class Indian girls Jassi too aspires to make a mark for herself with her never say die attitude yet gullible nature. The show brings out the eternal conflicts between the middle class and the high society; simplicity and glamour; artificial facades and true inner beauty. ’Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’ has all the ingredients to make it connect well with its viewers - a contemporary setting, a metrosexual male and fashionable socialites contrasting with a plain, ordinary girl aspiring to be accepted in high society and determined to make it big one day. STORY: Jassi is a clumsy girl who strongly believes in the values instilled by her parents. She is an ugly duckling with braces, huge magnanimous glasses, and old style clothing and without any makeup. She is ugly but she is very intelligent, loving, and funny! She gets a job at Gulmohur Fashion House as a secretary, even though she has much more credentials to herself! Armaan Suri is her boss. It is the story of how everyone pokes fun at Jassi because of her ugly looks. Mallika, Armaan’s fiance, hates Jassi and so does Pari, who is Mallika’s friend and Armaan’s second secretary (Jassi being the first) Mallika’s brother Aryan wants to be the chairman of Gulmohur and wants to overthrow Armaan. His right-hand man Gulati befriends Pari and together Cunning Gulati and Dumb Pari plot against Armaan and Jassi. Jassi is the one who does all the work at Gulmohur that Armaan is supposed to do. She makes all the reports and stuff. Armaan pretty much does nothing except brag and show off but he bombards and makes Jassi do all the work. She has a big hand in saving Armaan as the chairman. She knows all of Armaan’s secrets and plans and does as he wishes. Gulati and Pari try to find out Armaan’s secrets from Jassi. They both also hate Jassi and want her to resign from Gulmohur but Jassi is dedicated and persistent and she fights back. Will Gulati and Pari overthrow Jassi? Will Aryan be the chairman? Will Jassi save Gulmohur? Will Armaan and Jassi fall in love?
MY VIEWS: Jassi is an excellent show! It has been getting very good ratings lately. It’s average TRP’s (Television Rating Points) are 4-5 in comparision to 11 of KSBKBT but it is slowly climbing the charts. It is currently Sony’s number 1 show and has overtaken Kkusum, Heena, Devi and C.I.D. Jassi is a must-watch! Don’t miss it! It comes at 9:30 from Monday-Thursday on Sony.
