After a long spell of ‘saas behu’ soaperas which have nothing new for past 3-4 years but show women in negative role, “Jassi Jesi Koi Nehi” comes as a breeze of fresh air to fill our living rooms and lighten us up at the end of a hectic day. This serial which must b a few months old now, is telecasted from Mon-Thur on Zee TV 9:30 p.m. (Indian time) and is about an ordinary innocent girl ’Jassi’ who works for a fashion house called ’Gulmohar’ chaired by a young smart Chairman ’Armaan’. jassi belonging to a middle-class conservative punjabi family has her loving but strict father, and encouraging mother n grandma whom she loves the most in her life and her aim is to keep them happy at all times. Though she is very talented and her Chairman boss aptly recognizes this, she becomes a thing of jealousy for all the wrong influences in the office who can’t see her progress. They are found of making fun of her innocent beauty and leave no occasion to call her ugly. But nothing deters her from putting in her best of abilities to the success of ‘Gulmohar’, which is her prime interest and the well being of her boss ‘Armaan’ whom she likes, adores and secretly loves intensely. This serial which is of 1/2 an hour has been ever interesting and offers light entertainment, one which can be enjoyed by one and all in the family, age no bar. The TRP ratings are a proof that it surely is appreciated by millions of Indians who were just fed-up of the ‘Balaji’ serials. I hope Ms. Ekta is taking some cues… Happy viewing Cheers, Deepa
