The Jaypee Palace hotel in agra is THE place to stay in the city of the The Taj Mahal. it isn’t too far off from the Taj Mahal. it’s been some time since I stayed there but I remember that it was a very short drive. it is around 7-8 kms from the airport though. even from the railway station its a similar drive.
it certainly lives up to the standard that the other Jaypee hotels have also set and is a treat to to stay in. the ambience is very tradiitonal and yet modern at the same time. while the rest of the hotels in the historical city are very fort like, this one blends the fort look with modern contemprory touches to it.
the staff is friendly and food is great. all in all as I said earlier, a great place to stay in.
The other place ive tried in Agra is the Welcome group Mughal sheraton and though that is a good hotel too but has the old looks of a conventional historical town hotel. Jaypee comes as a breezy change for this city of forts.
