Everybody loved him... Everybody disappeared.
Movie Jerry Maguire
The Plot(screenit.com)
Jerry Maguire (TOM CRUISE) is a 35-year-old hot sports agent for Sports Management International and has 72 clients.
Hes not happy, however, with the impersonal relationships he has with them and thus writes his "mission statement" titled "The Things We Think and Do Not Say: The Future of Our Business." His associates like it, but hes fired by the management. He races to contact all of his clients and have them leave SMI, but his former protégé, Bob Sugar (JAY MOHR), steals away all but Rod Tidwell (CUBA GOODING JR.), a wide receiver for the Arizona Cardinals. And the only associate who leaves with him is Dorothy Boyd (RENEE ZELLWEGER), a single mother looking for something new in her life.
They immediately bond both professionally and romantically, which is a good thing since Jerrys fiancé, Avery (KELLY PRESTON), has left him after his fall from the ranks of the rich and famous. Jerry is also drawn to Dorothys son, Ray (JONATHAN LIPNICKI), and soon he and Dorothy become involved.
But Jerrys future rides on renegotiating Tidwells contract and during this time he learns that its best to work from the heart as well as from the head in both his professional and personal life
My Review
Another one of those most moving movies Ive seen. It offers you some sound lessons on family relationships and priorities. It made me think twice of what I actually want in life.
Comedy, drama & romance - this movie has in plenty.
Director Cameron Crowes other works are A Vanilla Sky (Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz) and Elizabethtown.
Tom Cruise has performed tremendously. One of those handful movies (A Few Good Men being another) of his where he has won many hearts with his sincere performance.
So also leading lady Renee Zellweger (Cinderella Man, Bridget Jones, Cold Mountain). Shes one of my favorite pretty hollywood actress. She has this sweet innocence on her face. Sh reminds me of my other favorite Juhi Chawla.
Cuba Gooding Jr.(What dreams may come, Pearl Harbour, Chill factor) in supporting role got an Oscar for his passionate performance here.
And theres this so chweet bespectacled boy Jonathan Lipnicki who becomes the viewers adorable doll to play with :)
But families, take care - there are some steamy scenes.
Hardly any flaws. Maybe not everybody will appreciate such simple & heartfelt movie.
Director - Cameron Crowe
Year - 1996
Starring - Tom Cruise, Cuba Gooding Jr., Renee Zellweger
My verdict - An inspiring tearjerker. Keep those tissues handy :)
