On a recent trip to Singapore I had a harrowing experience on Jet Airways on my return flight from Changi Airport. Just 5 secs after takeoff, maybe just about 400-500 metres from ground, even when the aircraft had not cleared the airport runway, suddenly the aircraft dropped and lost height. For a moment everyone thought we were going to crash and I could hear people gasping with astonishment. Fortunately, nothing untoward happened. The Captain of the aircraft was one Mr. Bhambhani and one of his pilot too was another Mr. Bhambhani. Were they father-son duo? Could it be that the senior captain handed over the reins to the junior inexperienced pilot? If so, they must realize that they were playing with the lives of 300+ passengers.
