UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEMS UNDERWENT BY THE CUSTOMERS

This is with deep regret I bring to your notice the ‘unfortunate and objectionable’ experience that I underwent at Baroda airport on 20th Jan 09 evening. I am not able to understand how your Bombay staff allowed liquor bottles in the luggage from Bombay to Baroda (Fl no: 9W 343) where prohibition is in active operation.

This has created a severe trouble to me and I had to spend Rs.3640/- for purchasing new clothes and lose a ‘magnum suit case’ of worth Rs.900/- because of the negligence and recklessness of your staff at Bombay Airport. Coming to the point: I traveled from Shamshabad (Hyderabad ) to Baroda via Bombay on some urgent official work and booked two bags on 20th January, 09 by Luggage by Fl no: 9W 454 from Hyd to Bombay and by Fl no: 9W 343 from Bombay to Baroda.

These two bags are not all tagged with plastic hook and not even any secfurity thread at Shamshabad air port. I don’t why it is so.When I landed at Baroda by Fl no: 9W 343 at 8 pm, I noticed, to my utter surprise, that one of my bags having official papers and two pairs reasonably good clothes with banians etc were soaked with ‘liquor’ (?) and outside of the Magnum Suit case is totally wet with liquor. Please see my fate. Then, I asked your ground staff at Baroda, Mr. Ravi, regarding this.I came to know that liquor bottle was allowed for another customer at Bombay Airport and that/those bottle(s) are broken resulting this ‘mishap’ to me.

I was approached by Mr. Harish (Incharge) after one hour. Mr. Harish finally said that he could get that clothes & Bag washed and send them next day early morning to the place where I am staying. Out of helplessness, then I took away one pair which is partiallywet with liquor with me with an intention whether I could manage my next day’s official meeting. But after going to the M.S University Guest House (Baroda), I found that the liquor smell is radiating very bad odour and I discarded them as it would spoil the official meeting decorum.Hope you will agree with me for this.

Then I purchased first only one pair of a low fare dress for Rs. 1865/- with the available limited money and with a strong hope that your colleague (Mr. Harish) would hand over the washed clothes at least on 21st Jan 09 evening. Surprisingly, I did not receive on 21st evening and I had to attend another important official meeting at Baroda on the second day of my visit.Pleasese try to understand my miserable plight. Then I had to purchase another pair of low-fare clothes to serve my purpose for Rs. 1385/- which I had to borrow from my friend at Baroda.

So, because of problems created by your staff, I had to spend Rs. 1865 + Rs. 1385 = Rs. 3250/- for two pairs of simple clothes (not at all suites ) and my Magnum suit case of worth Rs. 900/- was spoiled.i) Do you wish that your customer should suffer like this because of the problems created by your staff ?ii) Are the ‘liquor’ bottles allowed in luggage from Bombay to Baroda (Gujarat state where prohibition is in force) ?.iii) When the Bag & clothes of customer are damaged because of your ‘mistake’ is it not your duty to compensate the loss that I was put ?iv) You should introspect that if you are in my position what should be done? I have left it to your wisdom and decision. Hope you will respond soon.As a matter of fact, I never expected that this petty matter had to be referred to you.I wanted that your ‘global image’should not be tarnished down by such things.Regards.
