Plenty of room for improvements

I flew from Bangalore to delhi on S2 122 flight on 8th of oct 2007.


let me outline the details.


Ticket booking:i I booked the tickets at their airport couter in bangalore.


the staff who were there at the counter were a little dull.i paid the money and was told to collect the tickets.i was given a little papers which had dot matrix print. I was stunned to see a company staying in a competative buisness as airline still uses a DOT MATRIX PRINTER? the paper upon which the ticket was printed was highly unstable too.the staff their were a little rude as well.


Customer support: if you want to hear it in a word, ITS WORST.the tele customer care is very poor and very rude, they talk as if they’re doing a favour.


their website is one of the worst part.very poorly maintained. iwas not at all able to book through their website, thats why I had book at their counter.


At the airport: I reported to the checkin couter at bangalore at 6:00 AM, but still no sign of the Jetlite staff!


for the flight which is supposed to leave at 7:30 AM, if the checkin itself has’nt started, i started to wonder how will they manage to get all the bagages of 188 passangers on time?


at last at 6:15 AM two women showed up and they were acting as if they were doing a favour by helping the passangers.and the boarding passes were printed on JET AIRWAYS papers!


I was done with all the security checks and was waiting to board the aircraft.it was 7:10 Am but still no sign of the jetlite staff! and since jetairways now owns the jetlie I asked the people at the jetairways counter.he said "sir jetlite staff will be here pls wait", and I said "i can’t wait the flight is at 7:30 and its already 7:15!"  he said "Really sir they’ll be here soon enought"


I decided to wait, as I had no other choice, i saw two senior foriegners sitting beside me, panicing.


at 7:20 a person came and said" this is the last call for the passengers travelling on s2122 to delhi" it seemed ironical as it was the first call they ever made, I asked him where the hell am I suppose to board the aircarft? and why the hell the boarding passes of jetairways have been issued?, he just said sorry for the inconvinience sir.and left, well I rushed to the gate no. 5, thank goodness nobody had to board a bus to goto the aircraft, but it was parked near the gate itself.


On board:as soon as I boarded the aircraft(Boeing 737) I was greeted "Namaste sir"


I liked it, and airhostesses were wearing saree which I liked, it was a single class flight and thankfully I was given a seat in the front and it was a window seat.the aircraft seemed pretty new, and had minimal cabin noise.seating space was more than enough.had no inflight magazine though.


airhostesses did the usual safety instuction drills, and they were not serious abt their work, they were laughing in the middle of safety instruction drills,


Capt Ramanathan informed that we’re on line, no.3 and around 7:45 the flight took off, the takeoff was very smooth, I was quite happy, that it tookoff almost on time.


Captain kept us well inforned abt our current altitude, speed, the city we’re above etc.


we were served breakfast soon enough, she asked me veg or non veg, I asked for veg, which were 2  dosas and sag.which was pretty good, and a cup of fresh fruits, and lemon juice and a cup of tea.


lavatory was pretty clean too.


At Delhi: surprisingly we reached delhi at 10:15 on 5 mins after the scheduled arrival.the landing was smooth.and we were out in no time, baggages were out within 10 mins! but most importantly the handle of my suitcase was damaged, and jetlite counter was closed.so there was no other way I could claim the damage from them.


 Bottom line: jetlite is a good airline, what attracted me towards it was the fares, even lower than most LCC’s, that too on early morning flight.but they have a lot of room for improvement especially they might want to work on the attitude of the attendants both onground and on air. and to handle the baggages a little carefully other than that they’re great.
