Jim Corbett- A must visit place

It was march (2008), when I along with my little sister decided to make use of a travel voucher which was won with the purchase of nokia mobile. It had entitled both of us to stay in a resort for two days and one night. So, being a wildlife lover we decided to take a trip to Jim Corbett.

Travel time:- It takes around 6 hrs of travel time via bus from Delhi to Ram Nagar which is a small town on the periphery of the National park.Trains are also avaliable. But one need to make reservations beforehand so as to avoid waiting lists .

Place to stay:-We stayed at Jim Corbett Tiger Den Resort (https://tigerdenresortcorbett.com), situated 5 km from Ram Nagar and is away from the busy city .so as to give you a peaceful enviroment.Situated at the fool of a hill it also has a swimming pool and a restaurant with local delicacies.Charges are nominal as compared to the facilities.

Places of interest:-

1)Jim Corbett museum and relics gallery is a must visit place on the premises. It is situated at the exit gate of the national park.

2)Garjiya Devi Temple is situated on a huge rock amid the River Kosi, 14 km from Ramnagar. It is a very famous temple and a large fair is organized at this Shakti shrine on Kartik Purnima that draws a large number of pilgrims and devotees. It is said that a couple has to go in that temple to take the blessings of the Garjiya Maa who is the presiding deity.

3)Seeta Bani Temple is dedicated to Devi Sita, consort of Lord Rama. It is believed that she entered into the lap of Mother Earth here. Every year, a fair is held here during ramnauvi. It is located at a distance of 20 km from Ramnagar.

Places to eat:- There are no decent places to have food , but one can try out the local dhabas which serve you fresh food and that too at a very affordable price.

Time to visit:- March to june.

I am dam sure that once you go through this wild safari experience , you will definately remember for the rest of your life , and considering the fact that only 1411 tigers remain in the jungle. One must hurry to see the king of the jungle at its best in wild .Thanks
