Mughal e Azam 2 ?? Nah !!

I got a chance to watch JODHA AKBAR yesterday late night show. I dont think that there should be so much hue and cry about the movie. There is simply no need to drag Sharmila Tagore by few people just to gain publicity and mileage.

Anyway this is what I feel.

Coming to story part.

JODHA AKBAR is a painstakingly made but painfully long movie, infact its length is the biggest drawback. It goes on for more than 3 hrs. In past, movies like LOC etc. lost out coz of their lenght. Even Lagaan had to be trimmed.Infact Gowarikar’s last two movies were lenghty as well.

Direction by Ahsutosh is pretty good. Art director has done a wonderful job and technically movie is quite good. This movie contains more on ficition & less on facts(Govarikar’s history teacher would be running after him:)

There’s so much hype & style but substance is somewhat missing.

Hrithik roshan has once acted so well, The kindness as a good human being, the charisma of a king both were shown reall well. His expressions & great acting were one of the highlights of this lil bit dull saga.

Aishwarya Rai has got the least dialouges, maybe Ahsutosh was doubtful of her acting capabilities!   Presentation of the movie is beautiful. Hrithik Roshan suited so well in the role of a mughal badshah, his whole personality, (not like any short & not so good looking guys),  on whom producers bet their money  to make them look like grand.

A.R. Rahman does not live upto the expecations in music department.   Supporting cast have bits and pieces of footage & have done a decent job.

On the whole, JODHA AKBAR is a ok-ish kinda movie which is a good one time watch, nothing more nothing less!

My Rating: 2.5/5

Recommended to Hrithik Roshan and die hard movie buffs only .

Cheers!
