The critics obviously ha-a-a-a-ated this movie, which really ought to be your first clue just how entertaining it truly is!
Here in the U.S., we have spent the past 20 years wallowing in the growing "Chic-afication" of our country. Schools try to encourage boys act and feel like little girls. At home and work, men are expected to get in touch with their more "feminine" and "nurturing" side. In short, guys - and about 3 million years worth of testosterone-laced evolution - is trying to be shoe-horned into some androgynous "metro-sexual" mold.
That said, this new Rambo movie absolutely resonates with the unapologetic thunder of T-E-S-T-O-S-T-E-R-O-N-E! No nod to the feminine goddess of "how do you feel about that?" - Just a primitive, rip-roaring, take-no-prisoners kind of action-packed movie all guys will LOVE!
Accept the fact that critics panning this movie is a great sign that THIS movie - is the kind you actually want to see! Enjoy guys!
