A struggling lawyer, Jagdishwar Mishra or Jolly(Akshay Kumar, brilliant as ever) working as an assistant to a renowned lawyer at the Lucknow High Court, dreams of making it big for himself and owning his own chamber. With this high ambition he almost cheats a widow, Hina Siddique(Sayani Gupta) of her money, who is deliberately trying to seek justice for the murder of her husband. When she gets to know that Jolly has taken the money from her fraudulently, with utmost sorrow, ends her life.
Jolly’s conscience is deeply stung with this incident and he tries to seek the truth and bring the culprits to justice. From this point a hilarious courtroom drama starts, with Pramod Mathur(Annu Kapoor) as the opponent’s lawyer, and Judge Tripathy(Saurabh Shukla) who is extremely busy with the marriage of his daughter. Both Annu Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla are amazing, and the scene where the judge is shown seriously correcting the typical spelling mistakes on his daughter’s wedding card, with the audience wondering, what would be the outcome of the verdict, is really amusing.
The movie is equally balanced right from the beginning to a serious case of mistaken identity that led to the death of an innocent person to a struggling lawyer underestimated by his seniors and fellow colleagues, ready to fight the battle of justice till its last moment, makes this movie a must watch.
