I forgot to say that I actually very much enjoyed jumanji : welcome to the jungle .
Even though it was full of Kevin Hart -isms, I they worked really well for him in a PG -13 film. Dwayne Johnson was as entertaining as he always is, although this role was slightly different from what he usually does. Jack Black was finally tolerable in a weird way. Karen Gillan was just perfect.
There are a few surprise supporting cast members and mature jokes that adults and adolescents will enjoy, but it’s also super fun for kids. There are also some nods to jumanji ( 1995) for millennials, but the story and the game have overall been updated for a younger audience - especially gamers -in a great way and we get to learn new things about how jumanji itself operates.
I didn’t walk into the file with high expectations, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. I recommend it.
