JUNGLEE DISAPPOINTING!
"Hathi mere saathi"( 1971) was the one of the oldest movie that I have watched on tv and from that moment I started loving the movie world . Elephants are loved by all who never let the child inside them die.
So I was curious about Junglee but director Chuck Russell ( The Mask fame) falls short in making Junglee a good watch for Indian spectators. But you love the jungles( Thialand elephant reserve) and the hero Vidyut Jammwal . His flawless actions and dedication are pleasure to watch. He has proved himself to be the the most genuinely brilliant action ( packed) hero!
( Having learned Kalaripayattu since the age of three, for him martial art is like swimming for a fish! ) Kalaripayattu ( sometimes shortened as Kalari) is an Indian martial art and fighting system that originated in Tamil Nadu and it's use in this film is mind blowing( the scene of chained fight with four in police station is noteworthy) Atul Kulkarni( wasted) 'Akshay Oberoi are good and two new debutant heroines Asha Bhat( journo) and Pooja Sawant ( mahaut) are confident and camera friendly.
I expected more bonding with cute elephants in Junglee but here action is more important than emotions and I missed Salim Javed of HMS who made it so entertainig and here dry screenplay has killed the movie. Don't use ivory products so the killing of elephants by poachers would stop is a good message but its utopic.Instead we can save our jungles and protect animals by our own behavior .
What I liked about the movie!
Breathtaking scenic beauty
Lovely, adorable elephants
Vidyut's actION
Good, simple story
Acting of the supporting actors
Strong message of friendship between humans and animals
What I didn't like about the movie!
Vidyut's actING
Unnecessary songs playing throughout the scenes
Bad VFX
Extremely bad editing
Weak negative protagonist
Incomplete scenes
Overall Junglee falls short of your expectations , watch it for cute elephants, jungles and Vidyut Jammwal! But if you are not a movie buff better to avoid.
