It was some-time in 2004-05 when Karan Johar, SRK and Preity Zinta were celebrating the huge success of “Kal Ho Na Ho”. One fine night Karan organized a special party and invited Rani, The Bacchans & Taran Adarsh (IndiaFM.com fame) apart from SRK & Preity. They all got badly drunk, and that’s when Karan told all of them the script of his new movie “Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna”. Everyone signed this movie that night only and Taran Adarsh gave Karan a written commitment that he will definitely give atleast 4 and a half stars to this movie irrespective of what happens at the box office post release.
By now, you people must have determined my mood. I am shocked and stunned by a very unpleasant surprise given by Karan johar. I was counting for so many days for this movie to release, but after reading all the reviews on mouthshut, I preferred to download this movie through a P2P software and watch it on my laptop. Sorry guys, I know I am promoting piracy but I did not have the courage to put my 250 bucks on risk. And at the end, I am so glad I saved a part of my wealth. I was a big fan of Karan Johar, SRK and Rani. Well the later of the two still remain my favorites as mistakes do happen and they have made one by doing this movie but K-jo, you have made a blunder. SRK always shivers while acting but being limp in this movie forces him to shiver from top to bottom, and thus makes him look very very ordinary. Abhishek deserves all the applause for growing as an actor. Rani cries for 75 percent of her role and Preity is looking worth a million bucks.
With so many reviews already being written on mouthshut, I wont tell the story because a) every one knows the background of the movie and b) the story itself sucks. Some questions still haunt me and I am left disorientated and bamboozled.
1. Why the hell Rani was not happy with Abhishek? He was the utmost loving husband a girl could dream of. After the movie, one can only think that the single reason for Rani’s perplexity was that Abhishek had a small, tasteless and an unhealthy d**k (Beware Aishwarya J). Sorry mouthshut guys, no offences meant . Since the movie was U/A, it was left for viewers to understand on their own.
What was there in SRK that was tempting for Rani? He was a short tempered, confused and a jealous person. Was that reason enough for SRK and Rani to fall in love with each other that they were going through a similar (Not so bad though) phase? HUH..
What was Amitabh doing there being a Casanova ? May be Rani thought that when my father-in-law can be so disgustingly free in what he wants to do in life, I can follow his foot prints and do whatever I want to.
While planning a movie, for any writer, producer or director, a mood and a theme of the movie has to be taken into consideration . Basically, It has to be a serious, comical, thriller, family drama, action etc kind of a movie. If you are going to amalgamate the moods, do it with caution as it puts you at high risk. Mr. karan johar you have put together your craziest thoughts together and the morale of this movie is highly impractical. You need a break as you have become Donkey headed and Immature.
I am going to curtail this review here. I am writing on MS after almost 2 years. This doesn’t show how busy I am, this reflects that even a pathetically lazy person like me is forced to pen down his thoughts in sheer frustration and anger . Actually, Its an after effect of a torture.
