Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna {Spoilers incl.}
i had huge expectations from this one...and very sensitive subject it was .. A love that broke all relationships .. and a film that broke all my expectations .. as I was a krazy kankatic .. I wudnt say that I didnt lyk the movie .. it was a well made one.. but it wasnt flawless lyk other Kjo movies have been in the past.. I always tot that Kjo handled the emotional parts in the movie very well .. KKHH, K3G , KHNH [i cried in these movies at an interval of every 15-20 mins] ...all emotional scenes were well writtern n executed, those were scenes that touched ur heart n stayed there forever .. sumthing went wrong this time... I still cant believe what I saw .. didnt karan realize that this subject needed much more than he had put in ? (I really feel hurt when I write this.. dammmit I m soo upset)
KANK is characterized by Kjo’s trademark..larger than life sets which were absolutely amzing ..Sharmista never disappoints..NY locales were beautiful.
Coming to the characters .. Dev - Maya disappointed me ..Badly potrayed..the main characters cant be such losers ! I just cant digest this. Extramarital affairs are a sensitive and mature subject.. u cant just cheat your partner cuz u werent able to fulfil your dreamz. Dev & maya are so indifferent to their partners feelings and blame them for their insecurites and lonliness ..BLAH! I just wish it went the Silsila way atleast Amitabh and Rekha’s affair was justified..they loved each other before they were married and they married out other ppl out of compulsion ..but Dev Maya ? ? You cant just go ahead and have affairs cuz your partner is busy working and cant spend time with you cuz u are a loser and have nothing productive to do or in Mayas case just stupidty, she is such a confused character.Rishi was different from her but he loved. When people say that they sympathize with ppl lyk Dev and Maya, I m shocked.. the only characters I felt sorry for were Rishi and Rhea, both were modern outgoing ppl and they too knew that their relationships were going thru a bad phase .. they didnt go ahead and have affairs outside their marriage.. The only part where I feel a bit sorry for Dev - Maya was in the last three years.. when they were living alone..and on second thoughts they deserved it ! So did their love find a way .. yeah it did but what abt the other ppl who were hurt in the process ??
Performances :
Srk - I hate the character Dev..but SRk did well as a super loser cynical n rude man..and when he forces his dreams on his son and takes out all his fustration on that poor kid..tat was the most horrible part ..
Rani - Nothing new in her character[except she is cheating on her loving hubby], look or acting .. the only part when she luks amazing was in the song Tumhi dekho na .. Thanks to Manish
Abhishek - He rocked .. I love Rishi.. I didnt have many expectations frm him .. but he did amazingly well ! I cant imangine anyone else as Rishi Especially in the 2nd half..
Preity - She was the best in the movie .. Rhea wudnt have been possible witout her .. Its not only her luk ...but her performance was mindblowing .. esp in the scene when she tells Dev that the company has promoted her and shes not goin and the last scene with Rani ..
Amitabh - I loved Sexy Sam .. and Samarjit even more .. the scene where he dies is fantastic !
Kiron Kher - She luked pretty and did her part well .. I loved her in the parts where she supports her Daughter in law cuz her son was wrong.
Kids were good esp in the Tuje dekha scene .. awwwwwwwww they were soo cute.
Arjun had nothing special to do but he did well what he was given..
Kajol and John rocked in the songs rock n roll and WTPT..
Songs :
I absolutely loved all the songs .. they way they were shot .. the sets ..the locales .. the choreography .. Everything abt them!
Mitwa still remains my favorite.
Technical :
The movie was too long .. editing not very good.. some unwanted and not soo funny scenes.. I wish they had given some importance and time to make the audience understand that why dev and maya betrayed their partners ...despite of the fact that their spouses loved them truly.. Camera work was good .. as I said earlier .. sets and locales were wow ! Typical Kjo.

The bed scene btw Rani - SRK.
Abhi - preet discussing advantages of being single.
The rose sequence .. I loved it !
The ending scenes between Abhi - rani and preet - rani.
Ballet scene.
The scene I hated:
- the last scene .. too long and dialouges were too heavy.. that didnt make any sense ! a simple I love u will u marry me wud have been OK.
Final Verdict :
Watch it atleast once ! Rishi - Rhea are worth the money ! The film definately is quite well made..Karan has tried to do something different ..It is a soulful film but it cud have been much much better...
