Story writer, director, producer of this serial will not be able to answer these and many other questions.
I asked one of my friend the all above questions. His answer ’’It is happening in some families’’ . The title of this serial should be changed to ’’Kahani kisi kisi ghar ki’’
All these serials prove the essence of a Television regulator body which will set the guidelines for the producers. Like there is a regulator TRAI for telecommunications.
TV channels should follow self guidelines for the number of episodes for a particular TV serial. TV serials should be made in the format of 26 to 56 weeks and number of episodes. It should not be allowed to run a serial endlessly. This will serve two purpose, one there will be fresh serials after some times and two, viewers will be saved from watching the repeated stories.
Kahani ghar ghar ki paints indian families bad and it is distortion of indian society. Kahani ghar ghar ki suggests that it should be happening in every average indian home.
In kahani ghar ghar ki, everybody is in pain, sit-at-home husbands, women conspirators, killing each other, murdering, blaming each other. House-wives turned business tycoons, dealing in crores. Never discuss small issues, talk crores. House tells different story, cars are having dents, house seems ill maintained. Characters are over laden with cosmetics. is this all? no there is much about this madness.
TV is being watched till late nights. Kids are always late for schools because moms cant wake up early in the morning. TV has become one and only obsession. Serials are being discussed in parties, gatherings and offices. Re-telecast is being watched again and again. Food is cooked between breaks and served in great hurry as some one is going to miss a life time chance.
News channels are being disliked and one has no time to watch news and other interesting telecasts at home. It is an attempt to change the life style of masses. Every channel is in great hurry to offer family-sob-love-multi angled-sas-bahu saga.
so-called creative teams of these producers are short of fresh ideas. They are exploring the depths (not heights) of creativity.
When CAS will be implemented, half of the task will be done. Lot many of us will not opt for this madness. Rest can be achieved with some revenue model based on viewership. There should be something which gives feedback to cable operator that these channels are being watched by the homes. This data should be passed to independent agency, which will pass this data to advertisers. Result, every body will know the reality and actual position of these serials.
