14th January 2000, a movie released Kaho Na.Pyar Hai ! ( KNPH) which already made a buzz in market with its melodious songs and trailer ! But the buzz wasn’t too much.
I still remember the conversation with one of my school buddy, Are tune trailer dekha kya KNPH ka, kya body hai yaar uski and gane bhi ekdum full on, chalegi ye movie pakka. I was like , ha re dekha mast hai. It actully was a lie, as I was yet to see it.
Then cut to, it was my prelimery tests of SSC were finished. And just like a usual plan me and two of my school buddies made a plan to watch a movie. There was no plan to go for any specific movie, it was just a flick, and we went for KNPH. It was not much crowd for movie, hardly few rows with audience.
And after KNPH, we were simply in an AURRA of an Actor called Hrithik Roshan ( HR) . Frankly am straight 100% , but I simply fell in love with HR. What we all were just seen was a totally unexpected package in single person. The looks, the build, the eyes, the voice, the acting, the dancing skills, the dialogue delivery, the portray of emotions, the strength of his eyes to convey the words without speaking, his overall appearance, his simply magical personality man man man, what to say more !
The performances of each and every character was commendable too. The magical tracks of KNPH simply made the romantic drama, a fairy tale one, with a tragic and lovable start and end. The dancing skills of HR became a highly talking point everywhere.
Who said HR was a over night star. Definitly Nope, KNPH actully grabbed the box office gradually over a period of months and then it started at box office like a biggest block buster. The one like Salman movie does now a days, which make just for start of 4-5 days of its release. The same amount of grab KNPH continued for months at box office and became one of the best at box office ever. In its whole run KNPH made about a 60 crores. But let me tell you all, if you concert it to present value may cross more than 500 crores ( consider the inflation : -p) . The reason is the ticket price, at that time it ranged in between Rs.30-60 ( the place I used to live that time)
