SRK has Rheumatoid arthritis and not cancer !

No.. no more imaginative starting of the review.. no more creativity either. And why should only me strain my gray cells when our Bollywoodwalas have vowed not to think imaginative? They cook the same old dish with the same old masalas & expect us to digest. Come on, we need a break.

Bollywood’s new offering Kal Ho Na Ho is not an exception. It’s just the same old wine in new bottle. Nothing is new, nothing is imaginative and nothing is creative. Read on.

I love bollywood

After the waiting of a week’s time, finally I managed to reserve my seat in a multiplex. I had a lot of expectations from this movie.. thanks to the hype created by Tv channels & news papers. The movie started in a novel way.. my expectations raised a little high.. after a great start ‘The Story’ moved on and all my expectations fell flat on the face within next 20minutes. The chain of predictable dialogues & ’ tried n tested’ scenes kicked off.

Now i’ll try my best to put ‘The Story’ in words. A troubled family in NewYork fighting with the worries prays everyday to the god for a better life. One day god listens to their prayer and sends one angel. He spreads happiness in their lives in a Anand way. He teaches them how to love and how to live in a You Can Win way. But you know what ? Jo log bhagwaan ko pasand hote hai.. bhagwaan unhe apne paas bula leta hai! So, our angel also has to return home. But he takes his own time, he tastes patience of the audience for three hours and then finally decides to return ..leaving many disheartened souls behind.

That’s all folks.

Cum on dude, d movie is not dat bad !

Now lets look at the other side of the story. KHNH has its own charming attributes. The movie falls under the category of feel-good movies. The director seems to have strongly influenced by the foreign flicks. The packaging of a movie is just too good. You can comfortably compare it to the US’ Romantic Comedies.

Movie starts nicely by introducing the characters. First half is packed with a quality humor. Especially Saif adds some extra charm into his comic acts. NewYork life has been portrayed very well. SRK shines in comic scenes but sinks in emotional ones. Honestly I’ve been never impressed with the Shahrukh’s neck art.. and he didn’t disappoint me this time also. Preity looks really pretty. Her younger brother and sister look extreamely cute. Her nani & Saif’s gujju family sounds little loud. But her mother played by Jaya Bachhan excels in every scene.

I must admit that the direction department of the KHNH is truly world class. Cinematography has a global appeal. It is very well supported by the melodious title track & impressive background score. Equal attention has been paid to every character. We also have some surprise guest appearances due to some superstitious reasons.

So, whats the final verdict ?

Yes, KHNH is watchable. Being a typical bollywood flick it is packed with all the ingredients which makes a film HIT ! It has got appealing star cast, leg shaking songs, some really hilarious moments, saans-bahu ki khitpit and necessary tear rolling emotional scenes. KHNH makes a good weekend entertainer. Do watch it but please don’t carry any big expectations created by media. Otherwise, you’ll surely be disappointed.

To ensure your peace of mind, I’m writing a letter to censor board, after this review, requesting them to cut some ham emotional scenes delivered specially by our SRK. Alternatively they can use those scenes to retrieve secrets from terrorists during 3rd degree torture.
