This is the first review I’m writing and I know its a bit late in the day to review KHNH but guys! just let me know if u liked it :D
Kal Ho Naa Ho was one of the movies for which I had been waiting very very eagerly! And did I mention VERY eagerly! I was absolutely convinced that it would be a movie matching DCH in terms of content n quality! Looks like I was right about the quality part but sadly not about the content bit.
The story had a LOT of scope in tugging at people’s hearts! EVERYBODY’S. But it didnt. Everyone wasn’t satisfied, including me!
Let me start with Shahrukh’s performance. He acted well... BUT he was better in chalte chalte! He doesnt deserve an award for this. He seems very convincing in some scenes eg. when he reads out non existent lines from Saif’s diary n in the comic scenes BUT some other ones like the one in which he says ’ pehli bar is dil ne kisi ko dil se....’ looks ’’funny’’ Totally NOT real.
Saif was great! I don’t think there was a scene where he falters, though his character does feel like an extension of sameer (dch).
Preity Zinta is my fav actress but she wasnt exactly superb in this movie. I mean, looks like she cant cry even if her life depended on it!
In the story, the comic scenes were great! But simultaneously, Lilette Dubey’s character and the whole ’Gia’ controversy was totally unneccessary! It seems very illogical that Saif and preity don’t go n meet SRK when they come to know about his illness, rather its SRk who’s running all over NY to talk to them, straight from the hospital!! And HOW in the world can preity marry Saif right in front of SRK without feeling guilty!! I mean the guy who’s going to die is watching his girlfriend get married to his friend!!! So there is a conspicuous absence of logic in the whole story!
I, who didnt want to watch this movie because I knew SRK was going to die, the same I , was waiting for him to DIE because the second half of the movie was so badly stretched out!!!
I think you should watch this movie, but don’t expect a KKHH from this one. (And I guess most of you have seen it already anyway!) Bye
p.s. I LOVE SHAHRUKH! hehe! I just HAD to write that because I have a feeling that many people here at MS hate him and after my review, might not like him even more and I don’t want that!!!
