Kalighat temple is the famous temple of kolkata.the nearest metro station is kalighat.i would like to share my experience.i went with my family there last month. We took a cab ride.when we entered the temple campus a lot ofpandit came to us and forced us to hire them for the offering [pooja].they didn’t leave us.they kept following us wherever we went.finally we had to go to the police cabin than they left.second thing the pandit who are there just infront of the main idol of maa kali, dont behave good if u dont donate the money.remember one thing donate your money to the box only of the trust.dont give the money to any of pandits there.overall my experience was not so good.but the temple is very good.the idol of maa kaali is lovely.people in bangal believe in maa kali too much.good place to visit and worship but with care.if u want any pandits for offering just hire an authorised pandit.dont go for the local one.
