The movie directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, KAMINEY, is quite representative of its name. The best part of the story is the characterization of Sharad Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Both the protagonists have played their roles very well. There is excessive violence in the films. The language/dialogues of the films are very rude and vulgar.
The story post ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ follows it stand as far are personifying Mumbai slums/poverty is concerned. It seems film producers and directors have started en cashing on it.
The story revolves around the life of 2 twin brothers, Charlie and Guddu, both of whom hate of another(they blame one another for their father’s death). Life brings them face-to-face with one another after 3 years. A robbery and the desire to become rich by ‘shortcut’, makes them both entangled in a world of drugs, guns and money. Their lives collide head on with the lives of gangsters, rebel soldiers, rogue politicians and crooked cops.
Guddu realizes that the love of his life, Sweety(Priyanka Chopra), has unwittingly put a price on his head. The brothers have to run to protect themselves, their dreams, and their love. And most importantly, realize that all they have is each other.
KAMINEY is a film with an attitude. Whether you like it or not, but you’d never be able to ignore it.
