I gave my hyundai santro car for servicing. I had a slight technical problem in my car which I asked them to check too aside from general servicing. Upon assessing they gave me an estimate of Rs 26, 000/- to replace various parts, couple of parts costing 7000 each. Most of the replacements were not for fixing the specific problem that I had, but other general observations by their technicians.
Although I was taken aback by this astronomical figure, I still went ahead with the quotation and got various parts replaced.
The reason behind me agreeing to their proposal was I wanted to get my car repaired by an authorized and so called "genuine" service centres.
Upon getting my car back post part replacements and service, a strange sound started coming from the clutch area. The sound become worse over the next week to the point that I could not take it out on the road.
When I called their technician to check, I got another shock, when I was told that the whole suspension assembly must be changed which would cost Rs 25000/-. They had no clear justification on why this was not an issue before my car went into servicing with them. They also refused to take the accountability and get this repaired.
I strongly believe that they damaged my car, intentionally or unintentionally, during servicing and other part replacement.
I had already heard that they always recommend customers for getting parts changed even when it can be fixed. It was a mistake to haven taken a chance even after hearing this.
Stay away from them. there are some other local service centers that are more genuine and can do the same job at less than half the price.
I will never go back to Kanchana again. I am even contemplating filing a case in district consumer court against them.
